Office Town is a coworking and body-doubling web game by Katelyn, a developer from Canada, five weeks into development. She works on it every day after her regular job. The idea came from something simple: she finds herself most productive when working in the presence of others, so she built a space for exactly that. Log in, find a spot, and work alongside other people doing the same thing.

"I built an accountability / co-work space web game because I find myself the most productive in the presence of others."

Katelyn cites Habbo Hotel and Pony Town as early references, and later, well into development, discovered lofi.town as a kindred project in the same space.

A Cozy Space to Focus and Take Breaks

The space includes the basics needed to actually get work done: a timer and Pomodoro sessions to structure a work block. Beyond that, it's built to feel like a real office, somewhere you can body double with friends for accountability, take a coffee break, work from an outdoor bench, or find a quiet corner to recharge.

  • Timer and Pomodoro — structure your focus sessions
  • Body doubling with friends — work alongside people you know for accountability
  • Custom character — create and customise your own look
  • In-game chat — talk with other users while you work
  • Multiple spaces — desks, outdoor benches, and quiet corners to recharge
  • Whiteboards — leave feedback for the creator
  • Café and shop — take a coffee break, then spend daily login earnings on furniture
  • Property office — buy your own house and furnish it with what you've bought from the shop

Coming soon: public groups, so you'll be able to create your own space with friends or coworkers rather than only working alongside strangers.

Built with the Community, for the Community

Katelyn is developing Office Town in the open, actively gathering feedback, ideas, and feature requests to shape the app around what people actually want. If you try it out, she is genuinely asking for input, whether that's through feedback to the in-game receptionist or a note left on one of the whiteboards.

Office Town is early and growing. It currently has the basics: a timer and Pomodoro, with more features planned based on what the community asks for.
