Idle Internet Cafe Tycoon: A Cozy Idle Management Sim Built with Phaser

A cat boss, six seats and 20 seconds to get the ramen out before customers storm off.

Idle Internet Cafe Tycoon is a cozy idle management sim built with Phaser 3.87 by a solo developer who publishes as dumbgamelab. Your uncle's failing back-alley internet cafe is now yours. You open with six seats, buy gear, place it where it earns, and hire staff to keep the shop running, all under the watch of a cat boss.

How Idle Internet Cafe Tycoon Plays: Seats, Ramen and a Cat Boss

The cafe starts as a six-seat PC cafe, and the job is hands-on: clean a seat so the next customer can sit down, and get the ramen out before 20 seconds pass, or they storm out. A day lasts two minutes, at up to 3x speed, so the shop is always moving.

Gear or Staff? Placement, Upgrades and Six Stages

The whole game comes down to one decision, over and over: buy gear, or hire staff? Gear earns forever once you buy it. Staff cost a wage every day, but they keep the shop from grinding to a halt.

Placement is profit. Ramen cookers and vending machines sell more the closer they sit to the seats, so you drag them into place while keeping the aisles clear: if guests cannot get through, that spot is dead. Each machine can be levelled up individually, and better seats attract better-paying guests.

  • Six stages: alley, neighborhood, downtown, out-of-town, on-air and nationwide
  • A bigger room: hit the revenue mark at each stage and the whole room gets bigger
  • A continuing story: the story with your uncle carries on at every stage

An Isometric Phaser 3.87 Game on Browser, Android and iPhone

The game runs on Phaser 3.87 with an isometric grid, and the same build goes to Android and iPhone through Capacitor. It is available in English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese, which you can change in Settings. Streamers and video makers are welcome too: you can record, stream, and monetize the game freely, with no permission needed.

The developer has a question for fellow Phaser developers: if you have handled a lot of customer pathing in Phaser, how do you keep queues from jamming?
