SANCTUARY: Iovela, a Gothic Action Brawler Made with Phaser 4 and Three.js

Swing a heavy iron bell through the undead, and turn a cathedral full of traps against them.

SANCTUARY: Iovela is a gothic third-person action brawler made with Phaser 4 and Three.js by Nully. It has just been approved for Basic Launch on CrazyGames, where it is free to play, and it arrives just in time for Halloween: skeletons, a cathedral full of traps, boss fights and some pretty ridiculous ragdoll physics.

How SANCTUARY: Iovela Plays: Defend the Gate with the Sanctuary Bell

You defend a sanctuary gate against the undead, fighting as Iovela. Your signature weapon is the Sanctuary Bell, a heavy iron ball that you can pull through crowds or launch into attackers. Hold the right mouse button to tether it, and a charged attack becomes a Bell pulse while you are tethered.

Traps, Ragdoll Physics and Breakable Balconies

Between rounds, you place and upgrade traps, then activate them during combat. The traps combine with the Bell: a floor kicker can throw an enemy into a swinging ram, while a harpoon can hold one in place for a hit from the Sanctuary Bell. Destroying balconies leaves rubble that changes the routes through the room.

  • A ten-round Story campaign
  • New Game+
  • Survival mode

The game plays with keyboard and mouse, with controller support available. WASD moves, the mouse looks around, the left button attacks, Q locks onto an enemy, and E activates the selected trap. Keyboard and mouse bindings can be changed in Options.

SANCTUARY: Iovela is free to play in the browser on CrazyGames.
