Artemis: Ninja Hunter is a hex-tactics fighter for two or three players, built with Phaser 3.90 and TypeScript over 18 sprints of solo development by Ludoloco (aka plissken2013es). Pick a character, play against the CPU or go online, and trade blows on a small hex board. Action-by-action resolution, seven characters with distinct skills, and eight arenas with ambient effects.
It is also a homage. The game is a reverse-engineered rebuild of Elektra: Ninja Assassin, a 2004 Flash promotional game by Big Spaceship, whose backend has long been dead and which survives only as an SWF on the Wayback Machine. Characters have been renamed to ship clean. Everything else is a faithful reconstruction in Phaser 3 and TypeScript.
How the Hex Tactics System Works
Each round, both players secretly queue three actions: BLOCK, MOVE, or ATTACK. Once both players have locked in their choices, the sequences resolve simultaneously. Neither player sees the other's plan until it plays out. The tactical depth comes entirely from predicting what your opponent will do and constructing a sequence that beats it.
There are seven fighters, each with their own attack patterns, damage tiers and energy economy. Matches take place across eight arenas with ambient effects including rain, falling leaves and flickering torches. Both 1v1 and 1v1v1 modes are available, online against other players or offline against the CPU. A scripted tutorial gets you into a fight in about two minutes.
