What Is Hatchlings? A Phaser Browser Game About Collecting Eggs
Every day, new eggs designed by skilled artists are added to the game. There are thousands of collections to complete, ranging from themed sets to seasonal specials. You can hunt solo or collaboratively with a network of other players, trade eggs, complete in-game tasks, and earn badges for special activities.
To play, you click the Hunt crosshair at the bottom of your screen and then click on the eggs that appear in nests. Collect all the eggs in a series and you complete the collection, earning a key to unlock a new one. As you progress, collections get harder and the eggs rarer. There are nine rarity levels, from white (most common) to black (Super Rare), so there's always a new challenge ahead.
Some eggs hatch into pets — adorable forest animals and other creatures that were captured by bunnies and locked into eggs. You can adopt them and show them off as part of your collection. Not all eggs are hatchable, but finding one that is feels like a bonus.
The game runs seasonal events throughout the year, each with its own egg hunts, locations and rewards. There's always something going on, and the community built around it is genuinely active.
Four Ways to Play Hatchlings
There's no single way to play Hatchlings. Some players hunt for completion, trying to collect every egg ever released. Others compete for score, earning one point per egg collected and climbing global, friends and network rankings. Some focus on pets, collecting eggs specifically to adopt the creatures inside. And others play primarily for the social side, joining networks, gifting eggs, and chatting with the community. The monthly score resets each month, and at the end of the round, you get a certificate to share.

Hatchlings has a cast of recurring characters that give the game its personality. Sheldon P. Turtle orchestrates tradeposts and special events. Shelby Snapper, his sweetheart and a retired substitute teacher, hosts fantastic events. Leo Shneazle, the Deals Weasel, runs casino games in Egglantic City. Queen Bonnie Pastellano, the sassy Queen of Easter Island, throws seasonal parties. And the Ninja Bunnies still make trouble whenever they get the chance.
