What it does
Each effect layers a flash, a body, sparks and glitter, with colours that cool and fade over life. Paper flips and flutters, coins show a bright face and a dark edge as they turn, and fireworks trail and crackle. Shapes with parts ride together as sub-emitters: a balloon with its shine and string, a heart drawn from 44 dots, a gem with its facet.
Spawn one with game.particles.effect(name, opts). All but bubbles are one-shots that remove themselves, so a
firework show is a rocket spawned every fraction of a second, each bursting in its own random colour. scale sizes
everything, so a firework at scale 2 climbs twice as high, and angle aims the popper, the confetti and the streamers;
the confetti still falls down whatever the angle.

Make it yours
Choose by the size of the reward and fit it with scale. A match-3 throws a starBurst at the score on every combo
and fires confetti over the board at a level clear; an end-of-season show launches a fireworks rocket every 0.6
seconds from a random point along the bottom of a night sky. A copy of any effect can be retuned, such as a firework in
one colour or slower balloons.
A quick look
Confetti over the board, a star burst at the score, a popper from the corner and bubbles from a diver:
game.particles.effect('confetti', { x: 320, y: 200, layer: 'fx' });
game.particles.effect('starBurst', { x: scoreX, y: scoreY, layer: 'fx', scale: 0.8 });
game.particles.effect('partyPopper', { x: 40, y: 340, layer: 'fx', angle: 40 });
const breath = game.particles.effect('bubbles', { follow: diver, offset: { x: 6, y: -10 } });
Works with
particles-2dandparticle-textures— required;core-2dincludes both.audio— a fanfare under the confetti.feel— a zoom punch on the reward.vfx3d-party— the same twelve names in 3D.
Good to know
- The fireworks are the heaviest: a willow peaks near 1,050 live particles, so five at once is about 5,000.
- Sub-emitter children do not turn with
angle, and stay where they were born when a followed object moves. - Additive glows, such as the fireworks, fade on white backgrounds; paper, balloons, coins and gems read on any.
