Birdfood is a small game that features one of my favorite things in games: taking risks! You are a bird that’s continuously spinning in one place. When you hit space, you start flying in the direction you’re currently facing. You need to pick up fruit while dodging obstacles.

You can approach it very cautiously, but I found myself trying to keep myself moving as much as possible. Sometimes this ended in tragedy where I would make a simple mistake, misjudge the direction I’m currently in, and fly into a spike.
When it worked though, I felt like I was Neo in the Matrix. The spikes couldn’t touch me, no matter how close I got to them.
While this is perhaps not the intended way to play, it leads to a very exciting experience.
The game also features a two (and a three and a four) player mode where each player controls one bird and races their opponents to get the fruit the fastest. I encourage you to give the game a try!
