Phaser World Issue 23

Those of you who monitor the Phaser / Lazer GitHub repos will have seen there hasn't been much activity over the past few weeks. Equally the book Interphase 2 still isn't yet published. I thought it was about time I explained why, and to give you a status update.

The reason is that I took on a large client contract, and it has been consuming nearly all of my time - and then some. I'm sure you've been there before, those sorts of projects where actually going to sleep becomes a luxury. It was definitely like that in the final weeks.

I'm very pleased with what I've created though, and have learnt a lot while working on it. The project comes to an end next week, on April 1st. Most important of all though: it has bought in enough income to fund a solid 4 month block of development work on Phaser / Lazer. I have scheduled this out in the calendar, and will be treating the time as 'client' work. Except it will be for myself. This will take us well in to the summer, and I for one am itching to get back into the driving seat again.

My first task will be to go through the Phaser issues and work on the 2.4.7 release. This should only take a week, after which I can hunker down and split my time between finishing writing Interphase 2 and working on Lazer. We've been slowly going through Interphase 2 content here and there, but it needs a good period of dedicated time to get it finished off. And I'm glad I'll finally have that. I also cannot wait to get back into Lazer dev again.

So hang in there for a short while longer, and then be prepared for some serious activity across all fronts.
